Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Product Classifier account and all associated data from theAccount / Settings page in your dashboard.

How to Delete Your Account

Navigate to Account / Settings and click the Delete account button. After confirming your decision, your account will be permanently deleted.

Warning: This action cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account:

Subscription Cancellation

If you have an active subscription, it will be automatically canceled in both:

  • Product Classifier’s system
  • Our payment processor (Paddle)

No further charges will occur after deletion.

Data Removal

All personal data and account information is permanently deleted, including:

  • Account details - Email, authentication data, and profile information
  • Classification history - All past classification requests and results
  • Credit balance - Both monthly and purchased credits
  • API keys - All keys are revoked and deleted
  • Custom settings - Playground configurations and custom instructions

Data Retention

For legal and accounting purposes, we retain:

  • Aggregated monthly usage statistics (no product descriptions or personal information)
  • Invoice records and transaction history

This limited retention complies with applicable accounting regulations.

After Deletion

Rejoining Product Classifier

You can create a new account at any time using the same email address. The system treats this as a completely new account.

Trial Eligibility

If your deleted account had already used its free trial:

  • You can register with the same email
  • The system will recognize the previous trial usage
  • You’ll need to subscribe to a paid plan immediately to use the service
  • No second trial period will be available

If you never activated a trial on your previous account, you’ll be eligible for the standard 7-day trial on your new account.

Alternatives to Deletion

Before deleting your account, consider these alternatives:

Cancel Your Subscription

If you want to stop recurring charges but may use the service again later, simply cancel your subscription instead:

  1. Go to Account / Billing
  2. Click Manage plan and billing
  3. Cancel your subscription in the customer portal

Your account remains active with limited access. You can resubscribe anytime without losing your data or settings.

Downgrade Your Plan

If cost is a concern, downgrade to the Starter plan ($19/month) for lower monthly costs while maintaining your account, history, and configurations.

Next Steps

If you’re certain about deleting your account:

  1. Export any needed data - Save classification history or important information you want to keep
  2. Note your custom instructions - Copy any custom AI instructions you’ve written if you might reuse them
  3. Cancel integrations - Remove API keys from your applications before deletion
  4. Delete your account - Navigate to Account / Settings and click Delete account
